They’re getting married!
We’ve known Emily since she was a baby… a baby!
She’s 27 now.
Today, Emily called to tell me that Joe proposed to her… they’re getting married!
Joe is Mr. Right!
I am so excited for Joe and Emily!
July 8, 2011 will begin a beautiful and scenic lifetime of seasonal living (life is lived in seasons) for Joe and Emily.
I am also deeply moved by the invitation to “officiate” their wedding. I’m also pretty nervous.
You see, weddings cause me to… well… cry… puddles! The tangible expression of pure joy that fills the atmosphere on that special day still overcomes me… every time.
Plus, Emily’s dad and mom (Chuck and Janet) have been very, very, very close and special friends for 28 years. Together, along with their five children and our six children, we have shared so much of life with each other – homeschool, church, youth groups, missions, weddings, funerals, Christmas’s, Thanksgiving’s… life!
I had the privilege of marrying their oldest son, Chris (and Robyn) many years ago, and now, their youngest daughter, Emily (and Joe).
